Where can I bowl in Auckland?
You can play bowling at GameOn Takanini, a leading entertainment venue offering bowling alongside arcade games, laser tag and more.
While GameOn Queen Street doesn’t have its own bowling alley, there is a separate bowling centre (Metrolanes) within the same building, so you can always combine bowling with your arcade experience.
Is bowling suitable for kids and adults?
Yes, bowling at GameOn is designed for all ages, including kids, teens and adults. For smaller children we can activate bumper rails to prevent the ball going into the gutter.
We also have bowling ramps available to help little ones roll the ball down the lane – just ask our friendly team if you need any assistance.
Do I need to book bowling in advance?
Booking is recommended for groups, parties and events to secure your session. We do take walk-ins (subject to availability) but if you want to be sure of playing it’s best to make a booking.
Can I combine bowling with other activities?
Yes, you can combine bowling with arcade games, laser tag, karaoke, Pixel, VR and other experiences at GameOn.
We offer a range of discounted package options when you combine your main activity with one of our other activities.
Is there parking available?
Yes, GameOn Takanini has on-site parking available for visitors. If you’re staying longer than the maximum parking limit see our staff to access extended parking.
How long is a game of bowling?
A normal Ten Frame bowling game takes around 10 minutes per person.
We also offer timed play options (bowl for a set amount of time) and shortened, Five Frame games.
Do we need special shoes for bowling?
No, you don’t need special bowling shoes. We do ask that your shoes are clean (no mud!) and you do need to have closed toe shoes – no jandals, heels or bare feet.
Our friendly team have bowling shoes you can borrow if you don’t have suitable footwear.
Do kids pay the same as adults to bowl?
Yes, we charge a flat rate price across all of our attractions.
How many people can bowl together?
We allow up to 7 people per lane – so 28 people maximum across all four lanes. If you have a group of 16 or more we can divide your group across all four lanes.
